What bloodwork costs at online TRT providers

Every provider here asks for lab results before it prescribes, and most keep testing after. Who pays for those tests, and how often, is one of the biggest differences between two prices that look the same.

Why it changes the comparison

A provider that bills per test charges again at every follow-up, so its price grows with how often your prescriber orders labs. One that includes follow-ups has already priced them in. When two monthly prices look close, the lab line usually decides which is cheaper over a year.

Notes, provider by provider

  • PeterMD: PeterMD's blood work page lists panels at $247 (Optimization), $297 (Comprehensive) and $549 (Executive) but doesn't say which one a new TRT patient needs. Blood work orders aren't refundable. source
  • TMates: The page says medication and lab work are included with no hidden fees, but doesn't say which labs or how often. source
  • MangoRx: MangoRx's FAQ accepts bloodwork from the last 30 days, or a LabCorp test or at-home kit ordered through MangoRx (no price given). An older FAQ line says labs aren't included in the testosterone support protocol, which conflicts with the TRT page. source
  • Maximus: Uploaded results need total testosterone, SHBG or free testosterone, LH, PSA and hematocrit. source
  • Henry Meds: Henry says labwork is included in the subscription. source
  • PrescribedRX: PrescribedRX says lab costs are separate from its plans. source
  • Feel30: The membership starts once your first labs are done and a doctor prescribes. source
  • Hone Health: Hone's own breakdown puts $78 of the $1,620 annual membership toward clinical lab testing. source
  • GoodLife Health: The hormone page lists total and free testosterone in the hormone panel and says it is included in the $299 membership, but the nine-test quarterly panel on the same page doesn't name testosterone. Labs beyond the included panel are billed by the lab at pass-through cost, with no prices given. source
  • Taurus Meds: Taurus's 90-day refund guarantee excludes lab and pharmacy fees. source
  • Brightmeds: The terms put the initial lab test at $100, non-refundable, and say it's included in the product price if you go ahead. The site doesn't say whether labs after the first year cost extra. source
  • Male Excel: Male Excel's two pricing pages disagree on several figures. source
  • Defy Medical: Lab orders are refundable only before the specimen is submitted. source
  • Fountain TRT: Fountain's terms say the lab bills you or your insurer directly. Fountain doesn't publish what the tests cost. source
  • Hims: Hims describes its testosterone program as including lab testing. Its lab tests aren't available in Hawaii. source
  • Rugiet Health: Rugiet doesn't accept outside bloodwork; baseline and follow-up labs go through its own testing process. Its help center says another round of labs and a questionnaire is needed before the first 90-day supply runs out. source
